Porcelain Modern
The project
A raised pool and spa wrapped in white large-format porcelain, with a covered living room, outdoor fireplace and fire bowls on a compact modern lot.
On a modern house with little yard, the pool was raised and treated as a piece of architecture. Large-format marble-look porcelain clads every vertical face and the deck, so the pool, spa and planters read as one carved object. A covered outdoor living room with a fireplace and a pair of fire bowls on the pool wall extend the space into the evening. Horizontal slat fencing and a strip of lawn frame the composition.
