Expert Consulting
Pre-construction consulting, peer review, forensic assessment and owner representation for complex aquatic projects.
Overview
Some projects need an expert in the room before they need a contractor. We consult for homeowners, architects, builders and attorneys on complex pool and water-feature projects: reviewing designs and hydraulics, assessing existing construction, diagnosing failures such as ASR, and representing owners through construction by another builder. The goal is the same as in our own work — a pool that performs as beautifully as it looks.
Design and hydraulic review
Second-opinion review of plans, elevations, overflow and surge design, equipment sizing and material specifications.
Forensic assessment
Inspection and written assessment of failing pools — structural, hydraulic, finish and ASR-related problems.
Owner representation
Site visits, milestone inspections and plain-language reporting during construction by other firms.
Industry education
Bo Barnett teaches large-panel porcelain installation for Watershape University and speaks at Coverings and the Southwest Pool & Spa Show.

About expert consulting
Design and hydraulic review of other firms' plans, forensic assessment of failing pools, ASR diagnosis, and owner representation during construction by another builder. Engagements are scoped and priced individually.
It is the reason the company exists. We join the project team as the aquatic specialist — designing the water, engineering it, specifying the materials and, in Central Texas, building it — while the architect retains the vision for the house and site.
