Project typeFreeform pool with sunken lounge

The project

A freeform pool on acreage with a sunken fire-pit lounge in the middle of the water, a boulder grotto waterfall, a raised spa and a pergola.

On open acreage beside a modern farmhouse, the pool was shaped around a single idea: a sunken conversation pit, ringed by water, reached by a stone bridge and warmed by a fire pit. A natural-boulder waterfall and grotto close one end, a raised spa the other, and a steel pergola and covered patio give the family shade. Travertine decking and a loose, native planting plan let the pool sit easily in the landscape.
